Steps to Apply Nano Ceramic Coating at Your Home
Here are all the necessary steps listed down that will help you to apply Nano Ceramic Coating at your home. Let’s have a look at them:
- Clean Your Car’s Paintwork Properly
Basically, car’s paint is very quick at picking up fragments of dirt, sand, and road grime. These particles damage the performance of the new ceramic coating. If you wish to get optimal results, you should use a good quality foam canon to clean your vehicle. Keep 2 buckets with you, one for washing the vehicle and the other for cleaning the vehicle. While washing the car, start from the top and go to the bottom as the lower panel usually has more dirt, sand, and road grime.
- Go for Chemical Decontamination
For removing the harmful iron deposits, go for tar remover and good bug, and iron-filing based products. The products that have iron filings in them change color so that you can know that these products have been safely rinsed off the car. Besides that, use a clay bar as well as clay bar lubricant to remove any kind of remaining contaminants that are present on your car.
- Use Polishing
Before applying a new layer of Nano Ceramic Coating to your car, it is essential to make sure that the paintwork of your car is clean, smooth, clear, and perfect. As you know that ceramic coating forms a strong bond with the surface of the car thus it will also seal any kind of contaminants present there. In this way, your new car coating and the paintwork will get affected. So, you should use a polishing finish to remove all types of scratches or swirls. Polishing will provide brilliant gloss to your car. If your car holds a lot of scratches, you will have to use machine compound polishing for removing all the marks.
- Spray IPA Wipe
In order to remove any kind of residual polishing oils, spray an isopropyl alcohol mix on the car’s surface and clean it with a good quality towel afterward. This step will help you to ensure a perfect bonding between the ceramic coating and the paintwork of car.
- Apply Nano Ceramic Coating
Hold a foam block and wrap the applicator around it. Before applying the nano ceramic coating, shake the bottle well. After that, draw a line of nano ceramic coating on the applicator and work in 2 by 2 sections. Apply the coating from up to down and left to right motions. Let the coating dry but do not leave it for too long because, after 25 to 30 seconds, the ceramic coating product will flash. Remove it using a good quality microfiber towel and never use it again for your car because the SiO2 absorbed in the towel will dry up and damage the paint of the car if used again.
- Provide Curing Time
Once you are done with applying nano ceramic coating, keep your car in a dry and cool environment for 13 to 15 hours. Avoid your vehicle from humidity, rain, dust, and moisture. During this time, make sure to keep your car far away from water. Park your vehicle in the sun if the weather is not too humid or dusty outside. This will enhance the curing time of the car and will help the ceramic coating to build a strong bond with the surface of the car.
